Thessaloniki airport (Makedonia airport) is the only airport at the area and it is located about 16 km away from the city center. It is a small airport but it is very busy especially during the summer season, because it serves all travellers for Chalkidiki (Halkidiki), Pieria (Methoni, Makrigialo, Katerini, Litochoro, Leptokaria, Panteleimonas, Platamonas, Nei Pori), Thessaloniki and many other cities.
There are two ways to reach Thessaloniki city from Thessaloniki airport, the public transport (bus) and the taxi. There are only two lines of public transportation starting from the airport every 30 minutes and stopping at Makedonia Bus station and Chalkidiki bus station where you can find your next bus. The other option is ti catch a taxi from the airport line.
The cost from Thessaloniki Airport to Thessaloniki city starts from about 18 euros (the prices change during the night time) and it depends of the area that you are going.
