One of the most beautiful and important archaeological sites in Greece. It boasts perhaps the first Christian church in the country and of course the ancient Zugati river where the Apostle Paul baptized the first European Christian, Lydia. It is also has an ancient Roman agora, the Octagon, an ancient theater dating to the time of Phillip as well as Basilicas and smaller shrines. The Egnatian way passes through the city. The tour continues with the city of Kavala where we will visit the old city and Ottoman aqueduct.
